Jewelry was stolen from Jenson Button and his wife

A Formula 1 driver who was the victim of burglary may have been affected by anesthetic gas, according to his spokesman.
Jenson Button, his wife and some friends were asleep in a villa they had rented in Saint-Tropez when the house was burglarized on Monday; some jewelry, including his wife Jessica’s engagement ring, was stolen, the BBC reports. Button’s spokesman said that the police had told the group that this kind of burglary “has become a growing problem in the region with perpetrators going so far as to gas their proposed victims through the air conditioning units before breaking in.”
The spokesman said everyone was fine but “unsurprisingly shaken.”
